Been a busy month!
Skiing Vail
The gift we got each other for our anniversary was going on a ski weekend away! With only one more weekend before Vail closed – the hotels nearby were all selling rooms for cheap. We jumped on the opportunity and hit the road. Saturday morning we got to Vail and skied on a sheet of ice before experiencing a few golden hours of pure skiing perfection (before the slush set in).
The Anniversary
To kick the month off – we celebrated our Anniversary. After a lovely dinner at Tavernetta, we went on a long-walk and just enjoyed the good weather. The setting sun offered lovely harsh-light on the houses we found along the path we took. This image dead on centered with the garage was my personal favorite of the night.
The Likely Final Snowfall
In the middle of the month, we had our first round of guests! Rebecca and Danny visited us – and we were blessed to get a heavy snow-fall on a Friday evening! This meant that we got perfect conditions for wintry hiking in Rocky Mountain. We arrived early Saturday to make the most of it – and the conditions did not disappoint, I think our guests enjoyed themselves immensely!
Flowering Amongst Red Rocks
The image I’ll leave you with. A lovely soft scene with more out of focus – than in, but hey it was intentional and the result is relaxing. You can see in the background of the scene that there was still a bit of snow hiding in the shadows of the sandstone. The trail was fully melted though – no need for spikes like we had on Saturday.
