Fireworks (Photo Of The Week 32, 2024)

In an attempt to catch up to the current week, I'm writing a little piece on the fourth of July!

I’m still not caught up!?!

This photo was taken on the 4th of July 2024. It would be (as of my present knowledge) my final 4th celebration while living in the North End. I remember that on the 4th, both Sophie and I were exhausted. We were trying to decide if it really would be worth it to go out.

I’m infinitely glad that we did.

It was a great night – and while it was not what I’d consider our best view of the fireworks over the Charles (that has to go to our view from the Cambridge side in 2022) it was a damn close second.

The year prior our views were effectively blocked by the wind blowing the smoke clouds towards us, but this year we had a plentiful view towards the Longfellow Bridge and enjoyed it! It was far less crowded than it was at any of the other vantage points we’d used and I can’t remember a time that we got such a wide-angle perspective of the display.

The cherry on top was the view of the red-line going over the bridge during the train-display. How could you not enjoy that?
